Total Marine Services Limited (TMSL)
was established in Auckland in 1986 by Brent and June Shipman. Over the
last twenty years, the company has grown to become the largest marine
construction company in New Zealand.
Brent is now one of three Directors. In 2006, after a long relationship
with Total Marine Tim Yeates became a shareholder and Director.
All three have active roles in the day to day running of the company and
are often based on Total Marine construction sites. The Directors hands
on approach mean direct contact with the client, staff and daily operations.

TMSL specialise in the construction, project management and maintenance of wharf and floating marina infrastructure. No job is too large or too small, with staff skills complimenting the range of services offered. From small private jetties to marina construction to large commercial ferry wharves, TMSL is experienced in working with timber, steel, concrete piles, concrete decking and other adopted construction techniques.

The business is diverse, with TMSL also providing a salvaging service
and having proven knowledge in solving problems faced with restricted
site access and remote site location. Recently TMSL have added dredging
work to their list of marine services: Marina construction, Marine work,
Wharf construction, Wharf design / build, Marine piling, Sheet piling,
Marine pile supply, Gangway installation, Boat ramp construction and Diving.

TMSL Operations:
Whilst
the predominate
operations carried out by TMSL have been from the Corromandel Peninsula
to the top of New Zealand on both east and west coasts, contracts have
also been undertaken in Napier and Wellington.
TMSL have also been engaged in overseas contracts, as far as Hong Kong
and Spain. Team New Zealand contracted TMSL to oversee the construction
and installation of their marina and travel lift pier in Valencia, Spain,
for their 2007 challenge for the America’s Cup.
A large portion of TMSL contracts have been undertaken on behalf of numerous
local, maritime or regional government bodies. TMSL have been responsible
for, and have credible knowledge in the processes of resource and building
consents and ensuring compliance.

mind during the consent and construction process.
