Brent Shipman – Director
Brent is very much a hands-on Managing Director who established Total Marine Services in 1986 after having spent 8 years with the Auckland Harbour Board. Brent worked within the construction department as a charge hand on pile-driving rigs and wharf repair gangs covering timber and concrete construction. Prior to his time with AHB Brent served with the NZ Navy and is a trained and qualified Navy diver.
Since forming TMSL, Brent has managed and overseen the completion of many contracts in the past twenty years involving many varied facets of marine-based construction.
Tim Yeates – Director
Tim has spent his entire working life within the marine industry. His first working experiences were on motor ships and square rigged ships. From there, Tim was the Operation Manager of Marine Contractors Limited for eight years, based in the Bay of Islands. Tim then spent two years as Construction Manager for Northland Piling and Contracting (based in Opua). This company is wholly owned by Total Marine Services Limited and now trades as Total Marine Services Limited. Tim can attest to extensive experience in salvage work and construction knowledge.
Operations Manager -
Mark Macduff
Mark has been a full time employee of Total Marine Services for over five years and prior to that was employed as a sub-contractor.
Mark is an experienced boat builder and qualified skipper and has expertise in the operation of specialised water-borne machinery including dredging and pile driving.
Mark has previously worked in landscaping and is skilled in the construction of timber structures, land-based piling and retaining walls.
Project Manager -
Darren Soo
Darren has recently joined Total Marine Services after spending two years working on the Dubai Maritime City project in Dubai. Prior to moving to Dubai Darren worked in Auckland for over 15 years as a project manager focusing on large scale land development projects for multi-disciplinary consultancies.
Within the Dubai Maritime City project Darren managed the development of the Marina District. The Marina District is a multi-functional area consisting of maritime related retail facilities, hotels, Yacht Club and the largest marina in Dubai.
Construction Foreman -
Tony Mcphail
Tony has been an employee with Total Marine Services since 1989. Over that time he has worked his way from a general deckhand on the barges and tugs to a skilled crane operator and piling construction foreman.
Tony extensive experience on the job has provided him with an understanding of marine construction issues and has been involved in a number of Total Marine Services high profile jobs throughout New Zealand. Projects include the America's Cup bases in the Viaduct Harbour, the Gulf Harbour Eastern Marina extension and the wharf repairs at Motuihe, Orapiu, Old Matiatia and Birkenhead.
